The Fidlock GmbH operates this homepage under the domain name of www.fidlock.com. In order to provide you with an overview of how, where applicable, your personal transmitted data is recorded and processed, we would like to explain to you our activities in the context of data protection, which applies for the above-mentioned web pages as well as all media services of the Fidlock GmbH.
1. Basic information
Basically, the home page is available to all interested parties and visitors. To our knowledge, there is no restriction on the access of certain groups to our web pages and media services. If you have no access or only restricted access to our web pages or our media services, please contact us. While you are visiting the above-mentioned web pages or media services, no personally identifiable information from your computer will be stored without your explicit consent. This applies in particular to your name, your email address and other personally identifiable data. We shall treat the information transmitted by you confidentially. Accordingly, this is subject to our company security procedures and regulations concerning the protection and use of confidential information. No data whatsoever shall be passed on to third parties without your personal consent.
2. Personal data received via email
Your email address is used for no other purpose than for correspondence with you. An automatic forwarding of addresses to commercial distributors does not take place without your explicit agreement. We must point out that the data transfer to us takes place over an unencrypted connection which could make it possible for unauthorised third parties to acquire knowledge of personal data. Liability on the part of Fidlock GmbH shall be excluded in the case of wrongful use of personal data by third parties resulting from the unencrypted connection. The Fidlock GmbH endeavours to guarantee a transmission path that is as secure as possible.
3. Installation of third-party programmes
If additional programmes such as Java Script, Flash® (Adobe), etc. should be required for the correct reproduction of the web site, such programmes must be installed by you beforehand in your function as visitor to the web site or media service. An automatic installation of the necessary software does not take place without your agreement. The Fidlock GmbH reserves the right to offer such additional programmes to visitors, but without having to obtain any consent for their installation on the visitor’s computer. There is no obligation on the part of the Fidlock GmbH for the web site to be correctly displayed.
4. Logging access
For each access to the web site or media service of the Fidlock GmbH, certain access data are stored internally. The web server is operated and monitored by the Fidlock GmbH. When you visit the site, the following data are stored for internal statistical purposes:
- Date and time of access to the web site or media service (the Central European time zone is used here, adjusted accordingly to daylight saving time for Germany)
- The IP number of your computer or the requesting computer (which was assigned by your Internet provider when you dialled in or when access to the Internet was assigned, and which was unequivocal and unique for the time specified.)
- The URL of the request (which made the request to the server or which caused the desired function)
- The HTTP request header (header of an HTTP request, together with the rest of the data contained in this header)
- Server information during the request via the internationally binding error code table (e.g. file transferred, file not found, command not executed, etc.)
These data are collected for reasons of quality assurance, so that a smooth operation of the web page or media service can always be guaranteed. The data gathered above are furthermore stored and used to trace unauthorised access. In this case, the legally proscribed periods of time for deletion apply as stipulated in the German Federal Data Protection Act. If there is suspicion of unauthorised access, data are saved longer on the part of the Fidlock GmbH for investigational purposes, in collaboration with the legal authorities.
5. Mailing our newsletter
If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require a valid email address from you. Please also provide us with your title and name so that we can address you personally. We use this data exclusively for sending our newsletter. When you register for our newsletter and the registration is confirmed, the date and time and your IP address are stored to provide evidence of your registration later on.
To enable us to provide you with particularly relevant topics in your newsletter and tailor the newsletter to you personally, your reactions to our newsletter (opening the newsletter, clicks executed within the newsletter) are automatically recorded and used. We use the data collected in this way purely within the context of newsletter marketing. It is not passed on to third parties.
We store this data on protected servers in Germany. You can withdraw your consent to your data being stored or used for sending our newsletter at any time. Every newsletter contains an "unsubscribe" link for this purpose. Alternatively, you can send an email to email@example.com.
6. Forwarding of personal data to third parties
We only use your personal data within our company. If data is passed on to service providers within the context of commissioned data processing, we shall also oblige these providers to comply with the German Data Protection Act (BDSG). We shall only pass on your data to bodies entitled to receive the information insofar as we are obliged to do so by law or a court decision.
7. The right of deletion, revocation and disclosure
According to the German Teleservices Data Protection Act (TDDSG) and the German Federal Data Protection Act, you at all times have the right to retrieve, free of charge, information on your data transmitted via email and/or stored elsewhere, and to see that your data is altered or deleted. Please contact us directly in this case. You can convey your requests by all means available to you. You can find the contact address in the Legal Notice. In this context, we explicitly point out, however, that we cannot reimburse your expenses.
8. Disclaimer: links to external sources
The Fidlock GmbH, as the content provider in accordance with § 6 para. 1 of the Federal German Media Services Treaty, is responsible, according to generally applicable laws, for its "own content" which it provides for use. Distinction must be made between the company’s own content and "links" to content made available by other providers. In this respect, through the link the Fidlock GmbH may possibly make available "someone else’s content", which is then marked accordingly. "Links" are always "live" (dynamic) references. When a link was made, the company Fidlock GmbH reviewed the external content to examine whether this could result in any possible civil or criminal liability. But it does not continually check the contents to which it refers in its own content provision for any changes which might result in a new liability.
9. Obligation of employees to maintain data privacy
The employees of the Fidlock GmbH are under obligation to maintain data privacy.
